Path of Exile Item Upgrading
Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment using new attachments. They can also improve the base stats of the item or provide additional benefits. To upgrade items, the player must have the item in their inventory, and also access the kiln.
Items that have weak bases, such as rings, can be upgraded into more robust bases. Items with strong bases, such as Titans from eth, have no change in their stats.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be slotted into trinkets, weapons, armor and gathering tools, providing an attribute bonus or extra impact when the equipment is used. They can be purchased from vendors, found as loot by enemies, or gotten from chests and missions. Some upgrades can have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be above a certain point before they are upgraded.
To upgrade a weapon, armor or other item in the game, the player will need to select it and click the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will display a preview on the right side of the screen, showing what the expected upgrade stats will be and also the element or material required to make that happen.
There are three types that are universal upgrades (which include gems) Prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, such as gems, are able to be placed on any type of equipment. They offer a lesser bonus than upgrade components that have a type limitation. Infusions are only placed in gear that is ascended and legendary equipment, are the same as jewels but provide larger bonuses and cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add the suffix at the end of the item's name. For example adding the suffix Glyph will transform a Staff wrapping of Minor Vigor into a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.
If a player upgrades a gathering tool, and then replaces glyphs with another glyph the old one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace another upgrade component the item will be destroyed, except for inscriptions, which can be freely swapped.
Leveling
Path of Exile's upgrade system is different from previous versions in some fundamental ways. Gear is now categorised in tracks and each item can only be upgraded as many times before it is "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level however the materials required aren't as high. This allows players to focus their efforts on a select few items and maximize the effect of these items, rather than dispersing upgrade costs across multiple pieces.
This allows the item to receive upgraded components and a higher chance of success. This bonus is called the Artisan’s Energy and it resets to 0 if an upgrade fails, or increases if the upgrade succeeds.
After a piece has been upgraded to its maximum level, it is able to get affixes to boost its attributes. The number of affixes that are available depends on the item's base. For example, a rare or unique weapon with a normal base will have no more than two affixes available for it, whereas legendary armors will have up to eight affixes available for it.
Each upgrade requires an amount of Flightstones and crests based on the current level of the item and the slot it's in. Weapons typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.
If an item does not attain its maximum level, the NPC offers the player the choice to transfer it to a different character and re-infuse the item with a different set or upgrades. This procedure can take as long as two hours and will cost the same amount of material. However, it has a lower rate of success.
Engineers use a level in order to measure the height of the building against an established point, like the benchmark. This method is known as a "level loop." It involves taking readings using the backsight rod and level, then turning the level and taking the foresight rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are constructed to a high degree of precision and security.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is a crucial aspect of the game and can dramatically increase the strength of an item or damage, as well as other characteristics. This can be accomplished through the item menu or pressing the Reroll button of an upgraded item. Rerolling items can be costly and should be used sparingly.
The game lets players recycle upgraded items, which are used to acquire tokens for rerolls. These tokens are then used to upgrade the original item, or to upgrade another item of the same type. Recyclable items come with a gauge that shows the level of upgrade. The rarity and cost of upgrading an item determines the amount of level filled.
Prior to this, some upgrades were given priority affixes which made them easier for players to roll. It meant that you'd get the most crucial stats to your build more frequently than other items. This included stats like armor's total armour, thorns and the control impaired duration stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and strike chance.
This was changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes have been removed and all upgrades will have the same odds of rolling for every stat. This can be a good or a negative thing dependent on your needs and wants from your equipment.
Each upgraded item can be equipped with a special, fixed-value bonus that increases its power by a certain percentage. These bonuses are rolled into the usual affixes. The more you upgrade your product, the higher the chance of receiving the bonus of a different kind.
The game also has a number sets that grant a bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are placed on an item. This is a great method of giving a character a lot more power without spending a lot of money.
Many players prefer to reroll their gear and weapons, especially in the early stages of the game. Rerolling can help you gain a stronger character faster, allowing you to advance in the game and attain higher levels.

Sets
Sets are collections of elements that can be arranged in a variety of ways. They can be of various dimensions, contain no elements at all, or contain just one element. They can be used to organize data or sorting information. They also aid in analysing patterns. Sets can be classified in various ways, including size and shape.
There are a range of set items that can be upgraded in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Some items are worth upgrading while others aren't. Sets of armor that offer the highest defense value or set bonuses are generally worth upgrading. However, weapon upgrades often don't improve the stats of the item when compared to their purple counterparts. This makes them less attractive to upgrade when your collection of weapons and armor pieces is already extensive.
Certain set items are upgraded for their own unique functions that can be useful in certain builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, boosting their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement was increased as well).
Another reason for upgrading certain items is to bring them into the same level as their counterparts in their tiers. The Immortal King Set, for instance, is a huge range of levels ranging from 29 to 75. item upgrades to lower-level items can enhance their defense, and improve their performance in terms of damage.
To see if an item is worth upgrading, players can click the Upgrade button in the character screen. The item's attributes will be displayed together with any required items. For example the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials as well as 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also check the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.
In general, weapons and armor are more valuable when they are updated. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons that have spells or glyphs that damage weapons. This will result in a significant improvement in their stats. It will also boost the defense value of armor with an updated appearance.
