World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
Item upgrading allows players to increase the gear score of an item up to 700 and also add a final perk. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory, and then taking them to the kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading because of their unique stats. (For instance the perfect roll breakpoint armor is used in melee PvP). Other items such as weapons don't really change after an upgrade and therefore aren't worth it.
Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to improve their numeric stats, such as damage to attack, crit chance, PvE and damage to PvP. Weapons come with a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. In addition there are many weapons with a set bonus that activates when three or more of the same weapon are present on a unit. In some cases this bonus could add up to more than the amount of damage a weapon can sustain on its own.
The cost of upgrading a weapon is contingent on its rarity as well as its current level. For example, an +2 weapon requires two regular Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will continue increase until it requires a higher tier of Smithing Stones, at which point it will reset to one.
Upgrades to weapons also change the stats of the base. While this is usually a good thing however, it could have negative consequences too. Upgrades can make things unusable, unless you are extremely lucky.
Upgrades can be made to armor items to increase their effectiveness. This can boost the base defense of a chest or helm, while belts and gloves will boost their required strength and agility. Armor also has the option of rerolling its Enhanced Defense%, meaning that it may change its roll to a lower value.
The upgrade template for a weapon shows the new stats it will gain when upgraded, along with their respective values. This means that a weapon will gain 3% attack damage if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. However, the 3% doesn't mean that it will strike 3 times less often as it is an absolute statistic.
item upgrading can be rerolled by pressing the green button, which is accompanied by circling arrows in the menu for items. This will roll the item and alter its stats, however, it will not reset the weapon's level or bind to account status.
Armor
A few armor upgrades can make all the difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets can offer MASSIVE boosts to poison, curse, fire and magic resistance, which can make it easier to navigate through tough terrain. In general, the greater defense you can offer your character, the more health you'll receive from each point. Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade your armor.
You can upgrade your armor by visiting one of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four Great Fairy Fountains within the game, and to unlock each fountain, you have to complete an additional quest that involves the Stable Trotters. Once you've completed the primary side quest and completed the corresponding fountain, you can then speak to any Great Fairy to open up the armor upgrading menu.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded to three levels, and the amount of materials and Rupees required to complete each will vary. In general, you're looking at anything from three to five Red Chuchu Jellies and 10 Rupees for the initial upgrade, then anywhere between five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent one. For instance, the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, which allows you to keep up with a good-sized group of enemies in the majority of cold environments and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded up to +20 defense, providing you enough protection to withstand an entire raid with a few friends.
You can't upgrade your armor in the same way as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior, you should focus on upgrading your armor for physical strength or the power of spells. You should also save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor that you'll still be wearing at the end of the story, like the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you'll wear in the final boss fight, the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town in Gerudo Town, you can unlock perks for your armor. In general, you should save these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to win the game like the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer, but it can be useful to have some upgrades of the chest armor and helmets to allow you to stealth around certain monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquids that, when consumed by the player, give an immediate effect. There are five types of potions, each with a specific set of effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded to increase their effectiveness. You can also increase the effects of certain potions by adding glowstone dust and redstone.
Upgrades to potion cost a certain amount of XP, which can be earned by making them on a crafting table or the Alchemist's chest. However, the cost of upgrading changes depending on what kind of potion you wish to upgrade, as well as on the item's Mark Level and Rarity.
To upgrade a potion to the next level, right-click on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open an GUI that allows you to select the potion you would like to upgrade and the amount of experience they'll offer when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches of up to five at once, and their XP will be added to the total amount of XP you have.
Once a potion has been upgraded, it won't degrade until you use it again or break the bottle it is stored in. You can also rename the potion by clicking it in your inventory.
There were a few updates to the mechanics of potions in version 1.7.2. For instance the splash potions now have a duration of zero,08 seconds (this is not the same as the 22.5 seconds shown on the hover display of the item). The table of potion now made of four Wood Planks, and two Glass. It can be used in both Survival and Bedrock. In contrast to the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions cannot be used in cauldrons. This is the same for the use of a potion in a cauldron that is full. This will drain the potion and refill the bottle.
Finally, there are lingering potions that are made with dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone can be added to lingering potions to enhance their effects. The table of potions is organized more closely to the Java Edition, and new potions were added, such as potion of leaping, potion of decomposition, and turtle master potions.
Trinkets
A trinket is a small and cheap ornament or piece of jewelry. It could also refer to an object or decoration that serves a purpose but isn't particularly significant such as a tiny thimble. In certain traditions, trinkets are used to signify affection or friendship, specifically between family members.
Players can upgrade trinkets as well as weapons and armor, as well as potions. They can be upgraded by visiting an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate currency. Trinkets like other items that can be upgraded, can be swapped at will without losing stats.
Upgrade vendors can be found at the capitals of every zone, and sometimes in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are offered with tokens, gold or fragments of trinkets that are rare.
The upgrade of a trinket can be a cost-effective alternative to purchasing an entirely new one. One can upgrade a trinket for as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket will feature the same base ilvl as the previous one, and will include an additional upgrade bonus of 1.
When the old Trinkets are not usable they can be upgraded. This allows a player to increase both their power and value over time. They can also be traded between players and are an extremely popular alternative to gold.
Players should upgrade their most essential items first. This typically means the top-of-the-line items for their class, then their secondaries and then other items of gear they won't replace in the near future (for instance an earring or cloak). It is also important to consider your class's preferred stats when choosing which items to upgrade. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats to tank players, then they should upgrade their chest, helm and shoulders.
Once they have become useless trinkets can be upgraded to a greater level. The new trinket comes with an additional bonus of 1. However, a re-upgrade can ruin the previous trinket, unless it is salvaged with a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an additional salvage tool of higher quality. This makes upgrading trinkets more expensive than other upgrades, yet is still cheaper than buying an entirely new trinket.
